We know the much-awaited IONIQ 5 is finally coming to the US since the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has just released range and efficiency ratings for the award-winning dedicated EV from Hyundai. The EPA released the figures for three different versions of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 in a combination of 77.4 kWh long range battery, 58 kWh standard range battery, with either the RWD or AWD configurations.
2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 RWD Standard Range (19" SE): 220 miles or 354 km of range
2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 RWD Long Range (19" SE): offer 303 miles or 488 km of range
2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 AWD Long Range (19" SE): 256 miles or 412 km of range
2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 AWD Long Range (20" Limited): 244 miles or 4393 km of range
These official figures are actually better than what has been claimed by Hyundai initially, which is great news. We hope that the real range would exceed the published figures as other Hyundai BEVs have achieved in the past. i.e. Hyundai Niro EV (e-Niro).
Interestingly, the figure for the AWD version of the standard range model (58kWh Battery) was not released, meaning that it won't be available in the US (not initially anyway). This is as expected, as pricing information for such a configuration was not released when the Canadian prices were introduced in November.
Canadian Prices:
Essential (58 kWh, RWD): $44,999 CAD
Preferred (58 kWh, RWD): $46,999 CAD
Preferred Long Range (77.4 kWh, RWD): $51,999 CAD
Preferred AWD Long Range (77.4 kWh, AWD): $54,999 CAD
Preferred AWD LR/Ultimate Package (77.4 kWh, AWD): $59,999CAD
The US prices have not been announced yet.
